Are You a Leader? A Quick Movie Hero Quiz

So, you want to be a leader. And not just any leader – you want to be the best there is. Though there may be no fool-proof plan on being one (after all, it takes a lot of practice, time and patience to lead people), you can do the next best thing. How? By setting your mind on it. And what better way to create an image of a leader than using Movie Heroes? Take this quiz and see if you’ve got the makings of a powerful ruler:

You are in fortress, about to face thousand of orcs. On your side – a small battalion of sharpshooting elves, hundreds of peasants forced to fight, and a single stout dwarf. Theirs – abominations of trolls and orcs, coupled with the hundreds of suicidal bombers. What do you do?

A. Wave the White Flag
B. Cry like the baby you are
C. Raise your sword up high, motivate your men to fight through the night

You have to guard a bridge against a German regiment. Your forces are wounded, unmotivated, and in this bizarre case – too young to actually face danger. Plus, the German forces have a tank. What do you do?

A. Give up on the bridge, tell everyone that it’s better to be POWs
B. Cry like the baby you are
C. Just do it. Fight against the Nazis

After a surreal and bloody battle with Persian assassins, you suddenly find you and your army under a dark sky. No, it isn’t rain. It’s actually arrows. What do you do?

A. Shout “This is Sparta!”
B. Cry like the baby you are
C. Let you and your men cover yourselves with shields, and laugh about fighting in the shade

So, are you a leader? If you’ve answered A in any of the three scenarios, then there’s probably a lot to work out to. Giving up is a big NO in leading people. You’d need to show you can stand strong against any odds. And in the third scenario, just because you’ve shouted something to boost your troops morale doesn’t automatically mean you’re a leader. You have to carefully think things over first (otherwise, you’ll be in a world of hurt with the prickly Persian arrows).

If you did answer B, you may need to consider building up your confidence first. A leader usually takes the bulk of stress and pressure in any field of work. So you just can’t cry and act like a baby.

If you did answer C, then give yourself a pat in the back. Hooray! You’ve just got what it takes to be a leader! Have this short quiz ready, anytime you feel you need to boost your leadership skills up!

Practicality Counts: Tips on getting coupons

Like any practical mom out there, you know how important coupons are in managing a household. Think of it this way: if your house is a boat, coupons are the many life buoys you use to keep things afloat. The savings and other benefits provided by these little lifesavers can help you tide things over.

So where do you get them? Here are a few short reminders on helping you get those elusive coupons:

Products Themselves
Have any particular product you and your family seem to always purchase? Well, those products may very well hold those coupons you’ve been looking for. Some products such as breakfast cereals have coupons printed on the box itself. Others have a small form inserted together with the product. Always check your products for these little bundles of treats.

Online
The best and fastest way on getting and taking advantage of coupons is by simply going online. A simple search can yield dozens of discounts, promos, codes and coupons links. Let’s break it down into the most common ones:

Main Web Site – yet again, let’s take the cereal as an example. Chances are, coupons and other deals are available on the main or manufacturer’s website. The great thing about this is you’re getting the coupons from the source themselves, ensuring you of the validity and other term issues.

Online Coupon Sites – there are sites featuring coupons to several products and establishments. These sites commonly have their coupons come in an easy, printable form, making it convenient for homemakers.

Group Buying Sites – these sites, though rare, sell coupons at a lower rate than usually advertised. Coupons in these sites are either sold directly or auctioned off, so you’d better be quick on making a purchase.

Social Media Sites – in this time and age, we’re all probably connected in the many sites branching under social media. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc., are good venues for marketing. Therefore, some manufacturers would actually set up an account in these sites, and offer promos, deals and coupons to their connected clients. By simply connecting to these manufacturers’ pages or sites, you get to have a higher chance on being informed and potentially win bigger savings.

The Paper
Have you checked today’s paper? Some manufacturers or store establishments have print ads not only informing the public about the latest deals and promos, but also give out coupons as well. Some even have first-come, first-serve deals, so it’ll be smart to check the papers as soon as possible, to get those big savings.

Regardless of which method you choose, always do check the coupon’s fine print. You wouldn’t want to go through the hassle and inconvenience of presenting your coupon, then only to have it voided out. Nevertheless, make sure to check on these tips to help you live out a more practical and affordable lifestyle.

How to Avoid Children Asking for “Aguinaldo” – In a Subtle Way!

Admit it, for people who are old enough to have their godchildren, Christmas is one of the days that would leave a hole in their wallet. You know what’s worse than this? It’s when you see, not just one, but more children (whom you don’t even know by the way) asking for money! These are usually your godchild’s cousin, siblings or relatives. You might probabaly be raring to know the techniques on how to get rid of these children asking for Christmas gifts. It’s not that you don’t want to give out your precious cash but you just don’t have the budget to give out money for everybody. Well, I’m pretty sure that once you got cornered, you won’t have any choice but to pull some bills from your pocket. So here are some of the tips on how to avoid getting robbed by unruly children on Christmas day:

Hide – This is one of the best ways on how to spare your wallet from being empty. But let me tell you, if you think you’re smart enough, the people looking for you will always outwit you. These children usually visit on the 25th of December up to the 27th. Usually, they come as early as 9AM so if you have plans of hiding yourself, make sure that your not at home during these days.

Stuff ‘em and leave ‘em – If you’re trapped in a situation where your godchild already caught an eye of you, don’t fret or run. Feed them and after that, use your best excuse to get out of of the scenario. Lying is bad so you have to come up with a real reason why you have to leave.

Do a graveyard shift – Staying up really late is one of the solutions that can be a good excuse. Well, there’s nothing they can do if you’re in a deep slumber. If would be a really a challenge if they would wait until you wake up, but I doubt it if they can wait that long.

Pretend that you’re asleep – They say that a man who’s awake is hard to awaken. You’re gonna need a lot of FAMAS acting skills here though.

Christmas is a day of giving. But then again, you have to save money and leave something for yourself, right? Don’t drain or pressure yourself thinking of what gifts to give because if you let yourself worry about these, you would be burned-out in no time.

How to isolate colors in Adobe Photoshop

Do you want to leave only a few objects in your photo with color and make everything else black and white?

Before After

This is actually very simple. The idea is to to put two layers of the same photo on top of each other. The one under should be desaturated or made into black and white already while keeping the colors of the one on top.

First you just open your photo in Photoshop and then you right click on its layer and you duplicate it.

Then on the background layer you created you go to Image -> Adjustments -> then Desaturate.

Then with the eraser tool you take out parts on the second layer that you want to have no color.

And that is it! It is that simple. Now you can have your color isolation effect on your photographs!
