One of the most exciting experiences when traveling around the globe is having a new home for yourself in the form of hotels. You could say it is a ‘home away from home’. Staying in a hotel generally gives a person a sense of being in a different place and just having a change of atmosphere from the mundane atmosphere experienced everyday. However, not all hotels in the world offer the same conventional rooms or services as most hotels do. You may call these hotels whimsical, eccentric, and just plain weird. But whoever said that you cannot get comfort out of weird in these following hotels?
1 ) The Sand Hotel – Located in the beaches of Dorset, England, the Sand Hotel is made of 1,000 tons of sand. The rooms offer both twin and double bedrooms. The rooms do not have any ceilings, thus you can have the pleasure of stargazing all throughout the night, or until you fall asleep. The rooms cost $16 a night. There are also no washroom facilities in the rooms, which makes the experience even more exciting.

2 ) The Ice Hotel – Beginning at a rate of $ 230 a night, the Ice Hotel located in Sweden is made up of 10,000 tons walls, made of snow and ice from the Torne River. Imagine an igloo having more rooms than usual and you have the Ice Hotel. Every winter in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, ice is harvested in order to build the hotel. Therefore, guests are only accepted between December and April.

3 ) Tube Hotel – The Tube Hotels in Akihabara, Japan have been constructed in order to cater to workers wanting to catch a few sleeps comfortably without having to shell out a large amount of money. For less than $ 40 a night, non-claustrophobic guests can stay in a 7-foot capsule-like which offers internet connection, a television and radio. The Tube Hotel only proves that luxury is not required when providing comfort in hotels.

4 ) Propeller Island Hotel – This hotel is located in Berlin, Germany and offers guests to stay in rooms which you could just easily say are just taken from story books, movies, or just one’s imagination. The rooms at this hotel can vary from Vampire Rooms, having coffins as beds, or one modeled after a prison-cell. The price for any of the 28 rooms can range from $ 90 to $ 280 a night.

Weird as it may seem, these hotels are sure to give you a stay that you won’t forget. Have these short lists on mind – you never know if you’ll be booking at these places!
